Arlyne Eastman - Dec. 30, 1916 - Jan. 27, 2007

Arlyne Eastman, age 90, of Rembrandt, Iowa, died Saturday, January 27, 2007, at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake, Iowa.

Arlyne Williamson was born December 30, 1916, at Truesdale, Iowa, to George Edwin and Mabel Adella (Madsen) Williamson. She was baptized in the Methodist faith as an infant and confirmed her faith as a youth. Arlyne graduated from Rembrandt High School.

On December 31, 1935, Arlyne was united in marriage to Earl Eastman in the Rembrandt Methodist Church parsonage. They were blessed with four children: Norman, Carol, Mary and Sandy. Arlyne was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed growing a big garden each year and canning its bounty for her family’s meals. She and Earl enjoyed being members of several card clubs and liked to go dancing. She loved to fish. Arlyne was a lifetime, faithful member of the Methodist Church. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and belonged to different church circles. She will be dearly missed.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Norman Eastman of Spencer, Iowa; her daughter, Mary (Dale) Packard of Vail, Arizona; daughter Sandy (Tom) Mastaw of South Range, Wisconsin; grandchildren: Shelly Heller, Scott Fredricks, Steve Fredricks, David Mastaw, and Fred Mastaw; great-grandchildren: Erica Heller, Shawn and Sabrina Mastaw; brother Myrl Williamson of Summerfield, Florida; sisters: Opal (Ken) Hoyne of Sutherland, Iowa; Amber Stanton of Charles City, Iowa; and Ruth (Jerry) DeBettignies of Omaha, Nebraska; son-in-law Clair Fredricks of Tucson, Arizona; extended family and friends.

Arlyne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl; her daughter, Carol; her sister, Helen; and her brother, Lloyd.

Funeral services for Mrs. Eastman will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Rembrandt with Reverend Tom Petersen officiating. Burial will be in Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements.

Friends may call on Monday, January 29, 2007, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids where the family will be present.
