Helen Tymeson - Mar. 31, 1913 - Oct. 25, 2004
Helen Tymeson, age 91, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died Monday, October 25, 2004, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
Helen Norma Waterman was born to George and Emily Waterman on March 31, 1913, in Newell, Iowa. One of eight children, Helen was baptized in the Congregational Church in Newell. She graduated from Newell High School and attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake.
On September 29, 1940, she married Aikin Tymeson of Storm Lake. They had two children, Sara Jane and John Albert. Aikin passed away in September of 1974.
Helen was an active member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Storm Lake for over 70 years, serving as Deacon and active in circles and Presbyterian Women while her health permitted. She was a member of Chapter EP of PEO and of the Delphian Study Club, BV Hospital Auxiliary, and several bridge clubs.
She leaves to cherish her memory her two children: Sara Gailey and husband James of Newell, and John Tymeson and wife Jodi of Winterset, Iowa; six grandchildren: Kevin Christensen and wife Janelle, Dan Christensen and wife Lisa, Molly Montag and husband Dennis, Jamie Gailey, Erin Morgan and husband Joel, and Amanda Tymeson; six great-grandchildren: Andrew and Travis Montag, and Paige, Dara, Reed and Carly Christensen; brother-in-law Lloyd Tymeson; as well as many very special nieces and nephews and close friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five sisters and two brothers.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, October 29, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at the Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Storm Lake with Reverend Duane Queen officiating. A private family burial will be held at Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery prior to service time under the direction of the Fratkze & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake.
Friends may call anytime after 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 28, 2004, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake where the family will greet friends from 6-8:00 p.m.
