Lois M. Anderson of Lake Pointe Villa, Storm Lake, passed away Sunday morning, March 30, 2003, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center.

Lois was the only child born to Nellie (Shaw) and Roy H. Dieterich. She was born July 17, 1916, on the Dieterich farm just northeast of Aurelia and baptized in the Methodist Church in Aurelia. She began grade school in the old schoolhouse, attended grades 1-12 in the new school, graduating with the Aurelia class of 1934. She attended Mrs. Dodge's Business School while living with her Aunt Leota and Uncle John Wetherell in Milwaukee and worked in an insurance office there until her marriage.

On June 13, 1936, she was united in marriage to Robert V. Anderson at the Congregational Church in Aurelia by Pastor Edwin Trigg. Their marriage was blessed with four children.

Lois and Robert farmed in Iowa and Minnesota from 1936 to 1956 when they moved back to Storm Lake, residing at 714 Ontario, 705 Hudson and 115 Hudson Streets.

Lois worked at Skeels Cleaners and for the Pilot Tribune. She and Robert had the "Little Store" in Storm Lake, the Washta Valley Grocery, for seven years and the Ideal Café in Pocahontas from September 1984 to November 1986.

During her lifetime, Lois moved seventeen times, each time taking whatever each house had to offer and turning it into a home. She and Robert made lasting friendships wherever they lived, and though times were hard, they shared whatever they had with friends and neighbors.

Robert died in 1986. Lois moved to Lake Pointe Villa in September, 1998, and resided there until cancer was diagnosed in February of 2003. Up to that time, Lois was an active member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church and the PW Afternoon Circle.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, sister-in-law Gwen Van Hooser, and brother-in-law August Rudnick on February 21, 2003.

She is survived by sons: Norm and Carolyn Anderson of Yorba Linda, California, and Terry and Bobby Anderson of Waverly, Iowa; daughters: Carolyn and Chuck Hoffer of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Sandra and Lorray Jepp of Spencer, Iowa; eight grandsons: Kris, Keith, Ken, Ed, Tracy, Paul, Jeff, and Cory; five granddaughters: Dorinda, Pam D.
