Donna Cooley - Mar. 13, 1935 - Aug. 2, 2003

Donna Cooley, age 68, of Storm Lake died Saturday, August 2, 2003, at her home.

Donna Bauer Cooley was born March 13, 1935, at rural Quimby, Iowa, to Harry & Louise (Brickman) Bauer. As a child, Donna lived with her parents in the Quimby-Holstein area. In 1953, Donna graduated from Holstein High School. On April 1, 1954, Donna and Herbert C. Cooley were married in Sioux City, Iowa. This union was blessed with two children, one son, Charles Calvin, and one daughter, Cathy Ann.

Donna was a good cook and liked to bake. She was employed as a cook for many years at the Back Bar and at Christopher Jay’s until she retired because of declining health. Donna also did catering. Her specialties were breads and canneloni.

Family was important to Donna. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren. She loved to go to their school activities and to watch them play in sports. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing Bingo and having coffee with her friends. Her door was always open for friends to call.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Cathy Ann Ordonez of Storm Lake; grandchildren Chad Cooley, Craig Cooley, Krystal Perez, Brianna Ordonez and Alex Ordonez; great-grandchildren Tyrone Cooley, Andrew and Austin Cooley, and Gabriela, David Lydia and Elena Perez; one brother Harry Bauer, Jr. of Holstein; and many other relatives and friends.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herbert Cooley, one son, Charles Cooley, three grandchildren, her brother Les and her sister Ina.
