Rocky Cheevers - Dec. 16, 1952 - May 4, 2005
Rocky Lee Cheevers, age 52, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at Sioux Care Center in Sioux Rapids, Iowa.
Rocky was born on December 16, 1952, in Trego, Montana to John and Milly (Tobiska) Cheevers. He received his elementary education in Trego and graduated high school in Eureka, Montana. Rocky later relocated to Iowa.
On September 21, 1985, Rocky was married to Sue Mary Feldhacker in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford, Iowa. Their union was blessed with three children: Tyson, Shandra and Larissa.
Rocky was employed at Feekes Farm Center in Peterson, Iowa, and then by Anderson Pullets near Sioux Rapids. He was a member of the Sioux Rapids Baptist Church. He enjoyed the outdoors and liked to garden and fish. He also enjoyed woodworking. Rocky was a kind person and helped others when help was needed. Above all, he was a devoted husband and father who treasured his family and the time he spent with them.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Sue of Sioux Rapids; son Tyson and daughters Shandra and Lorrisa of Sioux Rapids; brothers: Joe Cheevers of Trego, Montana and Bill Cheevers of Thompson Falls, Montana; sisters Betty Pomeroy of Fortine, Montana, Sue Rathbun of Moscow, Idaho and Donna Schulze of Rosenberg, Texas; as well as other relatives and friends.
Rocky was preceded in death by his parents, John and Milly Cheevers, and his brother, Allan Cheevers.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2005 Lone Tree Cemetery in Sioux Rapids with Pastor James Marshall of the Sioux Rapids Baptist Church officiating. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids for three hours prior to the graveside services starting at 11:00 a.m.
