Lisa Mandernach - Nov. 01, 1973 - May 16, 2009
Lisa Mandernach, age 35, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died Saturday, May 16, 2009, at Sanford Medical in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Lisa Marie Drey was born November 1, 1973 in Storm Lake, Iowa, the daughter of Ron Drey and Betty (Grieme) Drey. She was baptized on November 21, 1973 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Early, Iowa and had her first Communion on November 22, 1981. She later confirmed her faith at the same church on April 20, 1990.
She received her early education at Crestland grade school before graduating from Schaller-Crestland high school in 1992. Lisa furthered her education at Northwest Missouri State, in Maryville, Missouri for the next four years, graduating in 1996.
On July 12, 1997, Lisa was united in marriage to Rick Mandernach at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Early, Iowa. The couple was blessed with two children, Preston and Rebecca.
Lisa loved spending time with her family and friends and was a devoted wife and mother. She treasured talking with people and never met a stranger. Following sporting events as well as going to her children’s activities provided Lisa with great pleasure. In addition, Lisa was a very organized person who enjoyed camping and was an active 4-H leader. She worked at Buena Vista University as a Transcript Evaluator. Lisa will be dearly missed by all of those who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Rick Mandernach of Storm Lake; her children, Preston and Rebecca; her parents, Ron and Betty Drey of Early; her brother, Lance Drey and wife, Diane of Clive, Iowa and their children Zack and Zoe; grandmother, Matilda Drey, of Early; father- and mother-in-law, Gene and Gladys Mandernach of Lakeside, Iowa; sisters-in-law: Brenda and Lance McFadden and their children, Allison, Megan and Lauren; Angela Mandernach; brother-in-law Doug and Linda Mandernach and their children, Jordan, Jaycee and Hunter; extended family and many friends.
Lisa was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Reinhardt and Helen Grieme; paternal grandfather, Alvin Drey; grandparents-in-law, Raymond and Irene Mandernach and Harold and Arlene Kies.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Fonda, Iowa. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in rural Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, where the family will be present from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
