Israel Garduño-Gonzalez - July 14, 1984 - July 10, 2009
Monday, July 20, 2009Israel Garduño-Gonzalez, age 24, formerly of West Chester, Kennett Square, Pa., and Wilmington, Del. passed away on Friday, July 10, 2009, in Rembrandt. He was the husband of Olga Liliana Jiménez, with whom he married on Aug. 5, 2006.
Born in Toluca, Mexico, he was the son of Jose Garduño-Ocampo, of Kennett Square, PA and Reyna Gonzalez. Israel met Olga at the reception of the RMHC/HACER scholarship in 2003 and soon became friends. In October, 2005 Olga and Israel started dating and got engaged on June 10, 2006.
In addition to his wife and father, Israel is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Garduño and husband Alejandro Mejia of Kennett Square, Pa., and Veronica and husband Enrique Garcia of Coatesville, Pa., one brother, Fernando Garduño of West Chester, Pa., three nephews Marc Anthony, Carlos, Mauricio and one niece, Maureli. Furthermore, Israel is also survived by his mother in law, Rubiela Jiménez, father in law Hernando Restrepo, sister in law, Diana and husband Juan Manzano and their daughter, Tianna, and two brothers in law, Sebastian and Marcos Restrepo of Wilmington, Del.
Israel was an assistant manager for Rembrandt Foods in Iowa. He graduated from West Chester East High School in 2003 and from Pennsylvania State University in 2008 with a degree in Agribusiness Management and a minor in Spanish. He was a member of the Thi Delta Psi Fraternity and played intermediate soccer for Penn State. Israel enjoyed playing and watching soccer matches, listening to music and reading books especially by John Maxwell.
His mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother Church, 8910 Gap Newport Pike (Rt. 41), Avondale, Pa. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Kennett Square, Pa.
