Velma R. Gilbert - Aug. 21, 1904 - July 12, 2009

Velma R. Gilbert born Aug. 21, 1904 passed away peacefully at the home of her son on July 12, 2009. She was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother. She is survived by her only child, Jerry A. Gilbert of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two grandchildren: Brett Gilbert and his wife, Kitty and Christi Kendrick and her husband, David; also four great grandchildren: Katherine, Matthew and Benjamin Kendrick and James Hartman, all of Tulsa, Okla.

Absolutely loved by all. She never met a stranger. She embraced life, was passionate about working in her garden and raising flowers. She shared an enthusiasm for life with her family and friends.

A graveside service at Storm Lake, her home for over 100 years, was held on July 17, 2009 in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery.
