Agnes B. Straw, 81, of Independence, died Wednesday, March 14, at West Village Care Center, Independence, following a short illness.

She was born July 2, 1925, in Buchanan County, daughter of Edmund and Florence Kemp Fratzke. On Jan. 3, 1947, she married Ruben Delbert Straw in Independence. He died in 1991.

Mrs. Straw worked as an egg candler at the Independence Produce Co. for several years and worked at Mid West Wood Products in Independence for 10 years.

Survivors include: three daughters, Carol (Gerald) Miller of Vinton, Linda (David) Driskell of Pamona, Mo., and Donna (Jeff) Simmons of Independence; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Audrey Clinton of Lake Tawakoni, Texas.

Preceded in death by: a brother; a sister; and two grandchildren.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at White Funeral Home, with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery, both in Independence. Public visitation from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
