Judith A. Pritchard, 82, of McGregor, Iowa died Wednesday evening, March 24, 2021 at MercyOne Elkader Medical Center in Elkader, Iowa.
Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 29, 2021 at Grace United Methodist Church, Oelwein, with Rev. Rick Johnson officiating
Visitation: 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Sunday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein and for one hour before the service on Monday at the church.
Interment: Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, rural Oelwein.
Due to recommendations from state and federal health officials during the COVID-19 pandemic, guests are required to wear a mask and social distance. We encourage relatives and friends not able to attend the service to reach out to the family by leaving a message on the funeral home web site, by mail, text or phone.
Judith Ann Campbell was born July 24, 1938 in Oelwein, Iowa, the daughter of Melvin and Zelma (Martin) Campbell. She received her education at the Oelwein Community Schools. Judy was united in marriage to Lyle James Pritchard at Grace United Methodist Church in Oelwein. They were blessed with five children, Jannes, Mark, Lyle and two sons that died as infants. Judy was a homemaker, dietician and worked at the casino boat in Marquette. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Judy enjoyed making many afghans for family and friends, loved to play bingo and she kept up on politics, holding her own with anyone. She was a huge Elvis Presley fan and went to see many Elvis impersonators. Her stylish personality was passed on to her daughter and granddaughters. Her meatloaf and casseroles were one of a kind, being requested by her sons whenever they visited. She loved her family and friends fiercely.
Judy is survived by her husband: Lyle Pritchard of McGregor; 2 sons: Mark (Connie) Pritchard of Strawberry Point and Lyle Jay (Dawn) Pritchard of Des Moines; 10 Grandchildren; 23 Great Grandchildren; 2 sisters: Carol Damon (Arn Grimson) of Waterloo and Faye Iverson of Phoenix, Arizona; 2 brothers: Jim Campbell of Oelwein and Steve (Helen) Campbell of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 infant sons; daughter: Jannes Snow on January 12, 2009; brother: Jerry (Mary Ann) Campbell; sister: Janice (Norm) Buckholtz; half-sister: Alpha Derflinger; sister-in-law: Jane Campbell and 2 brothers-in-law: Dean Iverson and George Damon.
