Elaine K. Ague, 77, of Rowley, Iowa, died on Friday, March 5, 2021, at Prairie Hills Assisted Living in Independence, Iowa. She was born in Independence on May 9, 1943, the daughter of Virgil F. and Katherine M. (Chesmore) Carver. She graduated from high school in Rowley with the Class of 1961. On May 18, 1968, she and Larry R. Ague were married in Harrisonville, Mo. Mrs. Ague worked for 28 years at East Towne Care Center in Independence where she was the laundry and housekeeping Supervisor. Mrs. Ague enjoyed spending time out of doors. She grew vegetables and flowers in her gardens. She liked to birdwatch and the gardens helped attract different types of birds. She also liked to crochet and work crossword puzzles.
Mrs. Ague is survived by her husband of 52 years, Larry; one daughter, Traci (Carl) Livingston of Watonga, Okla.; one son, Lenny Ague of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; four grandchildren, Nicholas (Sylvia) Richardson of Midwest City, Okla., Andy (Kennesha) Richardson of Watonga, Okla., Cameron Livingston of Weatherford, Okla., and Carson Jones of Thornton, Colo., and three great-grandchildren, Adrian, Leo and Marc. She also is survived by three brothers, Duane "Chub" Carver of Marion, Iowa, Larry Dean Carver of Walker, Iowa, and Wayne (Kathy) Carver of Independence; and one sister, Jo Ann Dillon of Sioux Falls, S.D.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Glenn, Neil and Merlin Carver.
A Celebration of Life will be held at noon on May 8, 2021, at the Rowley Community Center in Rowley, Iowa. Her cremated remains will be buried in Rowley Cemetery in Rowley. White Funeral Home of Independence is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.White-MtHope.com.
