Run over and Killed.
Independence Bulletin-Journal:—Frank King was engaged in hauling a ton of coal to the Smith farm, where it was to be used in running a steam threshing machine. In crossing the Y it was necessary to open a gate, and while engaged in this, the team became frightened by the swinging gate hitting them. Frank held the horses by the head until he was thrown under their feet. The load of coal then passed diagonally over his body, causing the fatal internal injuries, although no bones were broken. The accident occurred about 9 o’clock, and a few minutes past 12 he breathed his last.
