Took His Own Life.
INDEPENDENCE, Jan. 21.—Washington Morton, a farmer living near here, committed suicide Saturday night by throwing himself in front of a train. Both legs were cut off and the body was badly mangled. He was not discovered until yesterday morning, and then life had been extinct for some time. He had been somewhat demented for some time, having lost much of his property in business transactions.
