Shereen Schnor, 73, of Oelwein passed away on September 8, 2012 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.

Visitation will be from 4-7PM on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home in Oelwein. Funeral Services will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home with Rev. Leo Combs-Lay officiating. Shereen will be laid to rest in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, rural Hazleton.

Shereen was born in Oelwein on October 28, 1938 to parents John and Arlene (Hancock) Lennon. She attended school in Fairbank, Maynard and then Oelwein High School until 1956. On June 30, 1956, Shereen was united in marriage with Francis Schnor at the First Baptist Church in Oelwein.

Shereen was employed driving school bus for 30 years. She had been a PTA member, enjoyed craft work with her husband, loved holiday decorating, and was a self proclaimed “shopaholic”. She will be dearly missed by all who knew, and continue to love her.

Left to celebrate Shereen’s life are her children: Robin (Larry) Steffen of Oelwein, Renae (Larry) Ralston of Fairbank, Rachelle Norgen of Fergus Falls, MN, and Regina (Brent) Cowles of Colorado Springs, CO; her grandchildren: Holly Wolff, Lance Steffen, Ryan Ralston, Jayson Ralston, Laranda , Riston Norgen, Larissa Norgen, Larinda Norgen, Nichole Cowles, and Cortney Cowles; her great grandchildren: Ashten, Katie and Carson Wolff, Gavin Norgen, Brinley and Laney Ralston, Braxten Drechsel, and Landen Turkington.

In death, Shereen has rejoined her parents and her husband Francis (2005).

A memorial fund has been established.
