Donald Wayne Ferrell, 57, of Oelwein died Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Cedar Valley Hospice House in Waterloo with his family by his side.

Memorial services for Don will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home in Oelwein. He will be laid to rest in Fontana Cemetery at Hazleton.

Don was born on February 21, 1955 in Newton, Iowa to parents Wayne and Nora (Lawson) Ferrell. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1973. Don then enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served honorably from 1975-1981.

Don was united in marriage to Nancy Vargason in Tipton, Iowa on June 1, 1988. Don was employed in maintenance at Bertch Cabinets in Waterloo and most recently at Ashley Industrial Molding in Oelwein.

Left to celebrate Don’s life is his son Troy (Jeana Allen) Ferrell of Charleston, WV; his daughter Angie (Chad) Schinder of Manning, ND; his mother Nora Williamson of Newton, IA; his brothers Richard Ferrell of Newton and Jerry Ferrell of Colorado; his grandchildren: Matthew and Michael Berg, and Rae Allen; and several nieces and nephews.

In death, Don has rejoined his wife Nancy (2002); his daughter Marie Ferrell (2005); and his step-father John Williamson (1995).

A memorial fund has been established.
