Clifford E. Schlumbohm, 89, of Stanley, Iowa died Monday morning, September 11, 2017 at Oelwein Healthcare Center in Oelwein, Iowa.
Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Grace United Methodist Church in Oelwein with Rev. Connie Markle officiating.
Visitation: 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein and after 9:30 A.M. Thursday at the church.Interment: Union Cemetery, Putnam Township, rural Aurora, Iowa with military honors.

Clifford Eugene Schlumbohm was born November 3, 1927 in rural Aurora,Iowa the son of Louis H. and Myrtle(Clark)Schlumbohm. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1946 to 1947. On June 12, 1955, he was united in marriage to Alma Jean Smith at Grace United Methodist Church in Oelwein. He was a lifetime Stanley area farmer.
Clifford was a hard worker, who was always willing to help others. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church,Hazleton American Legion Post #642, Fayette County Cattleman’s Association and the Fayette County Pork Producers. Clifford was always involved with his children’s 4-H livestock projects. He was a John Deere collector, who also enjoyed dancing, fishing and teaching others how to fish. Most of all, Clifford enjoyed being with his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Clifford is survived by his wife: Alma Schlumbohm of Stanley; 5 children: Art(Kathy)Schlumbohm of Oelwein, Alan Schlumbohm of Stanley, Andrew Schlumbohm of Des Moines, Connie (Rick) Squire of Baxter and Carol Schlumbohm of Stanley; 5 grandchildren: Aaron(Spomi)Schlumbohm, Anna Jensen, Molly(Charles)Dunbar, Nathan Squire and Nicholas(Shaina)Squire; 3 great grandchildren: Alexandra and Natalie Squire and Luke Dunbar; and several brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 sisters: Eva Byerly and Irene Tiffany.
