Carol J. Brewer, 62, of Oelwein, Iowa died on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.

Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein, Iowa; Officiant Lonnie Brewer; Visitation: from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home and after 9:30 A.M. on Wednesday; Interment: Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Oelwein, Iowa

Carol is survived by: Daughter—Rachel Brewer (Merle) Rahe of Oelwein, Iowa 2 Sons—Jeff (Tammie) Brewer of Marion, Iowa and Tony Brewer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa Step-Daughter—Kimberly Brewer of Chariton, Iowa 5 Grandchildren—Shelby Brewer, Trevor Brewer, Bethanie Rupright, Bailey Rupright, and Jordan Brewer 3 Step-Grandchildren—Cody Criqui, Kylie Criqui, and Kelsey Runnells Sister—Darla Mattson of Oelwein, Iowa 2 Brothers—Robert D. Samsel of Florida and Mike Samsel of Sioux Falls, South Dakota Special Friend—Ron Elliott of Littleton, Iowa

She was preceded in death by her Parents and a Brother (Curt Samsel).

Carol Jean Samsel was born on March 6, 1947 at Windom, Minnesota the daughter of Robert Donald and Edna Irene (Kirstein) Samsel. She graduated from Windom High School at Windom, Minnesota. Carol married Gerald Laverne Brewer on August 20, 1971 at Galena, Illinois. She was a homemaker and had a major love for cats.
