Larry W. Brewer, 70, of Oelwein, Iowa died Friday evening, May 1, 2015 at Palmer Lutheran Health Care Center in West Union, Iowa.

Funeral Service: 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home. Visitation: 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment: Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, rural Oelwein.

Larry Wayne Brewer was born November 25, 1944 at Oelwein, Iowa, the son of Kenneth Carl and Leona (Pettit) Brewer. He attended Lamont High School. On February 25, 1967 he was united in marriage to Judy Ann Childers at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Larry was employed for many years as a bridge builder. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and being outdoors.

Larry is survived by his wife, Judy Brewer of Oelwein; 2 sons, Rex (Betsy) Brewer of Fayette and Lonnie (Jennifer) Brewer of Hazleton; 15 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Willis Brewer of Cedar Rapids; 2 sisters, Bev Steggall of Oelwein and Faye (Dennis) Arthur of Vinton; 2 half-brothers, Terry (Lori) Steggall of Hawkeye and Glenn Steggall; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and 3 brothers, Kenneth Brewer, Paul Brewer and Gerald Brewer.
