June V. Bell, 84, of Pleasant Hill, Iowa and formerly of Independence, Iowa died Monday evening, October 6, 2014 at her home in Pleasant Hill, Iowa.

June was born on September 3, 1930 in Quasqueton, Iowa the daughter of Jay and Lula (Olsen) Waitman. She was a graduate of the Rowley High School, Rowley, Iowa and was married to Ernest D. Bell June 4, 1977. June was employed as a billing clerk for 37 years with the City of Independence prior to her retirement.

June was a member of the Hope Wesleyan Church, Independence, the KOPS, the Eastern Star, and the Buchanan County Genealogy Society. She enjoyed being active in her organizations and spending time with her family.

She is survived by three children; Tony (Jan) Hall, Altoona, IA, Donna Keegan, Broken Arrow, OK, and Harley Hall, Sacramento, CA, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a sister; Bernice Johnson, Independence, IA and a brother, Richard Waitman, Phoenix, AZ

June was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ernie Bell in 2008 and a grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, Iowa with Rev. Bob Solon officiating. Burial will be in the Wilson Cemetery, Independence. Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM Thursday and from 9 to 11 AM Friday at the funeral home where an Eastern Star Service will be held at 7 PM Thursday evening.
