Hazleton, Iowa 27 Dec 1933

"Ella King Morey was born to O.P. and Sarah King on March 17, 1875, at their home in Fairbank township and crossed the border from which no traveler returneth early in the morning of December 22, 1933, after an illness of many months.

She was the only daughter in a family of three children . Her parents and two brothers have preceded her in death. When she was fifteen years old she came with her parents to Hazleton and was then married to I.A. Morey on March 1st, 1894. To this union were born three boys, Archie, who died when a few days past two years of age, Clarence, who resides on the home farm and Raymond who lives in Cedar Rapids.

Mrs. Morey has made her home in and about Hazleton for many years except for eleven years spent in Cedar Rapids where the family lived at her father's request during her mother's last illness. While her home was still with her parents she joined the Baptist church of Maple Grove, but since coming to Hazleton and after her marriage she became an active member of the Hazleton M.E. church.

She is survived by her husband, I.A.Morey, two sons, Clarnece Morey, of Hazleton, and Raymond Morey, of Cedar Rapids; also by three grandchildren, Duane, Marilyn and Anita. Her love and kindly ministrations will be sadly missed by her family and a host of friends both in Hazleton and Cedar Rapids.

Funeral services were held at the M.E. church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Dec. 24th, conducted by Rev. R.A. Hallett. Burial was in Hazleton cemetery.

Among those from out of town who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. E.N. Buchheister, Mr and Mrs. Felix Martell, of Cedar Rapids; Blanche and Harold King, Mr. and Mrs. L.C. Morey of Oelwein, and Mr. and Mrs. D.C. Carvey, of West Union."
