"MRS. MARY DURHAM
died Tuesday evening, September 11, of paralysis, at the home of her son, O.P. King, of this place. She had been in poor health for over a year, having had two slight strokes of paralysis which had since confined her to the house and bed. She was taken worse on Saturday night and gradually sank away until Tuesday evening when she fell asleep. Early in life she gave her heart to her Saviour and has enjoyed His ever-sustaining grace during a long life of usefullness in His service, always willing and anxious to testify to His goodness to her. On Sabbath, as long as health permitted, her place in the pew was always filled. She was almost 80, but owing to her lively and cheerful disposition, did not seem so old.

Mary Blade was born February 25, 1821 in Watertown, N.Y. She was married when about 18 to John King. To them were born three children: Charles, whose home was in Minnesota and who preceded his mother to the great beyond eight years ago; Oscar P., and Mrs. Amelia Bardeen, of this city. She was again married in June, 1866, to Justin Durham, who died a number of years ago. She has made her home for the past sixteen years with her son, O.P.King, where she has received the very best of care. No daugter could have done more or been more kind to an own mother that Mrs. King has been during all these years. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon from the Methodist church, conducted by her pastor, Rev. R.C. Lusk, who spoke from these words: "And He Fell Asleep." The male quartet furnished the music. The body was laid away in the Hazleton cemetery.
Hazleton, September 18."
