"Esther Elizabeth Walker was born in Vermont, October 17, 1839, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Bahmlar, in Hazleton April 10. Coming to Wisconsin in 1855, she was married to Charles Morey at Union Grove, Wis., September 21, 1861. They came to Hazleton township in 1868 and have lived here ever since. To this union were born three children, C.W., of Hazleton, I.A., of Cedar Rapids, and Effie E. Bahmlar, of Hazleton. Converted in early life Mrs. Morey united with the Methodist Episcopal church and has lived a beautiful consistent Christian life. She was united with the Woman's Relief Corps, being a charter member of the local organization. Almost her last words were "All is well." Besides her sorrowing hsuband she leaves to mourn her passing her three children and three grandchildren. The funeral services were held at the Methodist Episcopal church in Hazleton by her pastor, Rev. C.S. Bernard. Interment was made in Hazleton cemetery, April 11, 1921. How beautiful in death since Christ arose. 'Twas his immortal breath that proved our lives shall know no mournful close. Oh! sing ye people. What are earth's brief woes? How beautiful is death."
