Fairbank – Garold W. “Gary” Sadler, 64 years old of rural Fairbank, IA, died Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, IA.

He was born November 16, 1946, in Waterloo, IA, the son of Leonard Nick Sadler and Maria Rosallia (Fettkether) Sadler.

Following graduation from Dunkerton High School, Dunkerton, IA, he served with the US Army in Vietnam from 1966 – 1968. On April 24, 1971, he was united in marriage to Thresa Marie Thole at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Strawberry Point, IA. Gary was self employed as an electrician, operating Sadler Electric in Fairbank, IA. He was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, IA, Fairbank American Legion and Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Sadler is survived by his wife Thresa Sadler of Fairbank, IA; four daughters, Karen (Brendt) Landers of Greene, IA, Lori (Josh) Brandt of Mason City, IA, Becky (Clint) Stiles of Grimes, IA, Kristy (John) Tiedt of Norwalk, IA; 11 grandchildren; six brothers, Harold Sadler of Dunkerton, IA, Raymond Sadler of Fairbank, IA, Ed (Donna) Sadler of Fairbank, IA, Erv Sadler of Dunkerton, IA, Melvin (Theresa) Sadler of Dunkerton, IA, Gerald (Elaine) Sadler of Waterloo, IA; three sisters, Rita Schmitz of Jesup, IA, Donna Nelson of Fairbank, IA, Judy Starbuck of St. Louis, MO.

In addition to his parents, two brothers, Dean and Alvin Sadler and one sister, Mary Sadler preceded him in death.

Funeral Services were at 10:30 a.m. – Saturday, January 22, 2011, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, IA, with Fr. Kenneth C. Stecher as Celebrant.

Burial was at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery – Barclay, rural Dunkerton, IA, with military rites by Fortsch-Duffy American Legion Post #552 of Fairbank, IA.

Memorials will be directed to various charities.
