Carol Pauline Cole, 83 years old, of Independence, Iowa, died on Saturday, January 29, 2011, at the West Village Care Center in Independence.

She was born on March 31, 1927, in Independence, Iowa, the daughter of Egbert E. and Madge B. (Bloom) Cole.

She graduated from high school in Independence with the Class of 1945. Following graduation, she worked for a time at the Northwestern Bell office in Independence and then, at the First Methodist Church in Independence.

Ms. Cole is survived by several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at the White Funeral Home in Independence with Rev. Scott Meador officiating.

Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery in Independence, Iowa.
