Aloysius Vincent “Al” Pisarik

Brandon - Aloysius Vincent “Al” Pisarik, 93 years old, of rural Brandon, Iowa, died on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa.

He was born on January 3, 1917, in Linn County, Iowa, the son of Joseph Vincent and Mary Jane (Votova) Pisarik.

He graduated from high school in Mt. Vernon, Iowa. He and the former Evelyn Dolezul were married in 1938. She preceded him in death in 1946. On December 29, 1949, he and the former Harriett Ruth Zerba were married in Vinton, Iowa. She preceded him in death in 1994.

Mr. Pisarik farmed in Buchanan County and also was a machinist at John Deere Co. in Waterloo. He retired in 1977 after 20 years with the company. He also had a small engine repair shop (Al’s Sales and Service) at his home. He collected toy tractors and antique tractors. From 2000 to 2003, he took part in the annual WMT Radio tractor ride.

Mr. Pisarik is survived by 4 sons, Richard (Joyce) Pisarik of Centerville, Iowa, Leon Condon of Ladora, Iowa, David (Karen) Pisarik of Marion, Iowa, and Ralph (Darlene) Condon of Martelle, Iowa, and 1 daughter, Mary (Merlen) Laska of Alburnett, Iowa. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, 21 great great grandchildren, and 1 brother, Raphael Pisarik of Mt. Vernon, Iowa.

In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by 1 grandson and 2 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 5, 2010, at the White Funeral Home in Independence, Iowa, with Rev. Donald Plamondon officiating.

Casket Bearers will be Gene Condon, Kevin Laska, Bart Pisarik, Josh Condon, Daris Rawson, Christopher Eastburn, Carl Zotz, Dallas Zimmerman, Michael Miller, and Jeff Pisarik.

Burial will be in Quasqueton Cemetery in Quasqueton, Iowa.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 4th, at the funeral home.
