LAMONT - JoAnn M. Koch, 66, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2008, at the Edgewood Convalescent Home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Edgewood. Interment will be in St. Albert’s Catholic Cemetery �“ rural Lamont.

Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Edgewood.

JoAnn Mary was born on March 21, 1942, in Masonville, Iowa, the daughter of Emmert and Dorothy (Lappe) Reth. She graduated from Lamont High School in 1959. JoAnn married Louis Koch on May 30, 1959, at Masonville. They farmed near Lamont. JoAnn was a homemaker and dietary aide at the Lutheran Home in Strawberry Point for 13 years.

Survivors include her husband Louis “Louie” Koch of Lamont; two sons Dave (Linda Price) Koch of Benton, Kan., and Randy (Claudia Hatcher) Koch of Lamont; three daughters Cindy (Mark) Burlage of Kinross, Amy (Jim) Ries of Hopkinton, and Kari (Troy) Burger of Manchester; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and three sisters Jeanette (Lauren) German of Masonville, Lois Hullerman of Fennimore, Wis., and Wilma (Elmer) Olsem of Colesburg.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents.
