INDEPENDENCE: Everett Ray "Tuff" Bearbower, Jr., age 68, died Thursday, March 13, 20008 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a brief illness.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, March 17, 2008 at Phillips Family Center, 605 2nd Ave, in Vinton with Rev. Douglas Morton officiating. Interment will be held at Bear Creek Cemetery, northeast of Vinton. Friends may call at the Family Center from 9:30 AM until service time on Monday. A memorial fund has been established.
Everett and his twin sister were born on March 21, 1939 at Oxford Junction to Everett Walter and Mildred (Moore) Bearbower.
During his lifetime he had been employed by area farmers, worked in the construction business, and was employed as a meat cutter at a Locker Plant. He enjoyed collecting pens, fishing, and mowing lawns for friends and neighbors. He also enjoyed making leather harnesses for his collection of miniature horses and he adored his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his sisters, Martha (Kenneth) Klouda of Coggon; his twin sister, Evelyn (Dale) Peska of Marengo, and Norma Tripp of West Union; his brother, Marshall (Gladys) Bearbower of Whalen, MN; and several nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Bearbower; two nieces; and two nephews.
