Jesup -- Naomi Olson, 84 years old of Jesup, Iowa, died Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, Iowa.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 3, 2008, at the American Lutheran Church, Jesup, IA, with Pastor Dawn Pederson officiating. Burial will be at the Cedar Crest Cemetery, Jesup, IA.

Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, November 2, 2008, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, and for an hour before services Monday at the church. Memorials will be directed to the Elevator Fund at the American Lutheran Church, Jesup, IA.

Mrs. Olson was born January 3, 1924, in rural Mercer County near Zap, North Dakota, the daughter of Peter Lapp and Julia (Kutzke) Lapp. On February 18, 1947, she was united in marriage to Raymond Lee Olson in Bismarck, ND. They moved to the Jesup area in 1959 where they raised their family. Her husband Raymond, preceded her in death on March 23, 1978.

Mrs. Olson is survived by three daughters, Marie (Leonard) Spencer of Louisville, KY, Julie (Ronald) Truog of Oelwein, IA, Dorothy (Larry) Thompson of Jesup, IA, two sons, Raymond L. Olson, Jr. of Jesup, IA and Ken (Therese) Olson of Jesup, IA, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two brothers, Oscar (Betty) Lapp of Bismarck, ND, Richard Lapp of Pendleton, OR, two sisters, Leah Benz of Mandan, ND, Lora Saul of Muscatine, IA, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Dennis Olson in 1985, one grandson, Rodney Truog, three great grand daughters, Audrey, Grace and Isabelle Anhalt, one sister, Rose Saul and two brothers, Frank and Peter Lapp.
