Independence - Ava Marie West Barnes, 3 day old infant daughter of Andrea M. West and Kenneth E. Barnes of Independence, Iowa, died on Saturday, August 26, 2006, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. She was born on August 23, 2006, in Iowa City, Iowa.
In addition to her parents, Ava Marie is survived by 1 sister, Addison, at home, her paternal grandparents, Kenneth L. Barnes of Independence, Iowa, and Renne (James) Galgocy of Norton, Kansas, her maternal grandmother, Valerie (James) Teisinger of Waterloo, Iowa, her great grandmothers, Virginia Barnes of Reinbeck, Iowa, and Ethel Dowling of Norton, Kansas, and her step great grandparents, Elaine and Warren Teisinger of Dunkerton, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, David West, and her great grandparents, Kenneth L. Barnes, Herbert Hoover, Rose and Richard West, and Mary and Delbert King.
Funeral Services were at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2006, at the White Funeral Home in Independence, Iowa, with Rev. Luke Hettinger officiating. Burial was in Hazleton Cemetery in Hazleton, Iowa.
A memorial fund has been established.
