BRANDON – Helen Frances Venneman, 92 years and formerly of Brandon, IA, died Friday, April 27, 2007 at the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home in Strawberry Point, IA, of natural causes. She was born December 20, 1914, in Marceline, MO, the daughter of John Lodder and Anna Margaret Lauhaff. On January 12, 1937, she married William Frederick Venneman, Sr. in Marceline, MO. He preceded her in death in 1988.
Mrs. Venneman is survived by 3 sons, James (Helen) Venneman of Cedar Rapids, IA, John (Mae) Venneman of Tucson, AZ, William (Fay) Fenneman, Jr. of Strawberry Point, IA, 3 daughters, Julie Ann (Michael) Colbert of Hayesville, IA, Linda (Alfred) Hageman and Alice (John) Stork, both of Cedar Rapids, IA. 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, also 1 sister, Sr. Mary Catherine Lodder of Mt. Saint Claire, Clinton, IA. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter, Mary Helen Venneman, 1 brother Edward and 2 sisters, Gertrude and Mary.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Independence, IA, with burial in the church cemetery.
