JESUP — Sharon A. Engbretson, 63, of Jesup, died Wednesday, February 27, 2008, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo.
Sharon was born May 13, 1944, in Minneapolis, Minn., the daughter of Mavis (Trusty) Ryan and at the age of two, she was adopted by Palmer Boe and Agnes (Trusty) Boe. She graduated from Decorah High School, Decorah, with the Class of 1962. On June 16, 1962, she married Richard Merle Engbretson at the First Lutheran Church in Decorah. Sharon was a homemaker and also worked as a Certified Nurses Assistant for many years at Friendship Village and Harmony House in Waterloo and also worked in Elder Care in various private homes.
She is survived by her husband, Richard of Jesup; five daughters, Denise (Jake) Spiegel of Jesup, Debra (Dennis) Opperman of Fayette, Donna (Craig) Geltz of Jesup, Dawn (Bob) Gwin of Jesup, Diane Engbretson of Cedar Falls; two sons, Donald Engbretson and Darren Engbretson, both of Jesup; nine grandchildren and one sister, Marilyn Knight of Waterloo.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2008, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Independence, with Pastor Mark Carr officiating. Burial was in the Littleton Cemetery, Littleton.
White Funeral Home of Jesup was in charge of the arrangements.
