JESUP — Darlys I. Weber, 83, of Jesup, died Thursday, Feb. 28, at Windsor Nursing and Rehab Center, Cedar Falls, following a short illness.
She was born July 20, 1924, in Mount Vernon Township of Black Hawk County, daughter of Henry John Doepke and Bertha Sophia Boedeker Doepke. She married Clarence Nicholas Weber on Aug. 16, 1949, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Waterloo. He preceded her in death Oct. 27, 2002.
She worked at McDougall’s Café in Waterloo. Mrs. Weber farmed with her husband in Black Hawk County for many years. She also worked in housekeeping at Friendship Village, Waterloo, from 1980-1990.
Survived by: three daughters, Sharon (Dan) Hambrock of Eagen, Minn., Judy (Jim) Meier of North Liberty and Marilyn (Victor) Kies of Cedar Rapids; five sons, Larry M. (Sue) and Donald N. (Rose), both of Waterloo, Dale C. (Brenda) and Gerald W. “Gerry” (Shelly), both of Jesup, and Ronald H. (Laura) of Evansdale; 24 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Wilma Kohagen of Readlyn, Marie Heisterkamp of Cedar Falls and Bernice (Edwin) Buls of Denver; and a brother, Henry (Lynette) Doepke of Denver.
Preceded in death by: two daughters, Janice Weber and Lou Ann Weber; and a grandson.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup. Public visitation from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at White Funeral Home, Jesup, where there will be a 3 p.m. parish rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
