Jesup - Leota Mae Kasik, 92 years old of Jesup, IA, and formerly of the Mason City and Clear Lake area, died Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at East Towne Care Center, Independence, IA, of complications of age. She was born June 28, 1915, in Mason City, IA the daughter of Otis Levi Frantz and Regina Ellen (Tyson) Frantz. On October 17, 1932, she was united in marriage to Frank Kasik in Clear Lake, IA. He preceded her in death on October 1, 1990. Leota was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jesup.
Mrs. Kasik is survived by 2 daughters and sons in law, Darlene and Ernest Bender of Calhoun, CO, and Patsy and Jerry Kelly of Jesup, IA, also 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, her parents and 1 brother in infancy preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. – Friday, July 13, 2007, at the First United Methodist Church, Jesup, IA with Rev. Vicki Reece officiating. Burial was at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City, IA. Memorial will be directed to the Cedar Valley Hospice at Independence, IA and to the First United Methodist Church in Jesup.
