Independence - Frances H. Baldwin, 89 years old, of Independence, Iowa, died on Saturday, July 22, 2006, at her home following a short illness. She was born on September 27, 1916, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas and Florence (Fietman) Malcom. On May 4, 1936, she and Clifford Henry Baldwin were married in Buchanan County, Iowa. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Baldwin farmed all of her life. She was formerly a member of the Littleton Presbyterian Church in Littleton, Iowa.
Mrs. Baldwin is survived by 1 daughter, Jackaline (Paul) Baldwin Dunlap of Urbandale, Iowa, and 4 sons, James (Peg) Baldwin of Hazleton, Iowa, Thomas Baldwin of Independence, Iowa, Bud (Sandy) Baldwin of Waterloo, Iowa, and William (Eloise) Baldwin of Fairbank, Iowa. She is also survived by 3 sisters, Margaret Doering of Napa Valley, California, Mable Blum of Greene, Iowa, and Lucy Heitz, of Lakewood, California, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at the White Funeral Home in Independence, Iowa, with Rev. James Brown officiating. Casket Bearers were John Sweeney, Rock Vogel, Paul Kitner, Gary Brown, Bart Vogel, and Ron Quass. Burial was in Littleton Cemetery, Littleton, Iowa.
