ROWLEY - Leona "Onie" R. Hartgrave, 89, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following an extended illness.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Keystone where friends may call from 9 a.m. until service time. The Rev. David Hanson will officiate. Burial: Keystone Cemetery.

Onie was born Feb. 22, 1918, in Homer Township of Benton County to Herman and Rosa (Meyer) Shuldt. On Feb. 14, 1945, she was united in marriage to Raymond Hartgrave at Marengo. The couple farmed in Keystone, Williamsburg, Marengo, Walford and Norway.

Raymond preceded her in death in 1997.
Onie was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Center Point and enjoyed needlepoint, playing cards with Tony, attending hog roasts, canning and gardening. She was proud and pleased to have met Charles Lindbergh.

She is survived by her son, Roger Dean (Dorna) Hartgrave of Rowley; her daughter, Patricia Ann (Ernie) Foster of Tempe, Ariz.; grandsons, Scott Foster and Anthony Hartgrave; stepgrandsons, Michael Heiderscheid and Jebadiah Darling; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Alvin, Wilbert and Ralph; her sister, Esther Selken; and her grandson, Michael Foster.
