LAMONT --- Sharon Josephine Gaffney, 67, of Lamont, died Thursday, Jan. 10, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, of cancer.
She was born Sept. 1, 1940, in Lamont, daughter of Gerald and Letha Madison Meacheak. She married Daniel B. Gaffney Nov. 29, 1958, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lamont.
She attended elementary school in Lamont and high school in Independence, graduating with the class of 1958.
Mrs. Gaffney farmed with her husband.
Survived by: her husband; two daughters, Michele Gaffney of Manchester and Sherryl (Ellis) Gaffney-Paige of Marion; two sons, Paul (Ann) of Ames and Pat of Lamont; seven grandchildren; and a half-sister, Geraldine Aikey of Charles City.
Preceded in death by: a son, David; and a brother, Jack Meacheak.
Services: 11 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Winthrop, with burial in the church cemetery. Public visitation from 2 to 7 p.m. today at Fawcett Funeral Home, Winthrop, where there will be a 7 p.m. Scripture service.
