JESUP --- Rose Grace Buhrow, 81 years old, of Jesup, died Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at her son Richard's home in Wylie, Texas, following a lengthy illness. She was born February 27, 1926, at Independence, the daughter of Matt Kremer and Matilda Catherine (Lardy) Kremer. She attended school in Jesup. On July 6, 1944, she was united in marriage to Paul Leslie Buhrow in Waterloo. They have made their home in or near Jesup most of their married life. Rose was an active member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup and instrumental in the organization of a neighborhood rosary group still actively meeting after 25 years. Rose will be lovingly remembered for her many creative talents which she expressed through sewing, baking, story telling and song. Her gentle, kind spirit was the foundation for an unwavering faith in God, and an unconditional love for her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Paul of Jesup; four daughters, Roseanne (Brent) Palin of Austin, Texas, Mary (Robert) Junker of Jesup, Sharon (Patrick) Murray of Como, Texas, and Paula (Christopher) Skory of Washington, Ill.; six sons, Donald (Shelly) Buhrow of Pella, Thomas Buhrow of Burlington, and Paula Buhrow of Burlington, Raymond (Elizabeth) Buhrow of Carlisle, Pa., Richard (Candice) Buhrow of Wylie, Texas, Leonard (Kimberly) Buhrow of Dallas, Texas, and Russell (Beth Ann) Buhrow of Allen, Texas; 25 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four brothers, Joseph (Ellen) Kremer of Jesup, Alfred (Helen) Kremer of Amarillo, Texas, Matt (Joyce) Kremer of Garrison and Robert (Ruth) Kremer of Corona, Calif.; five sisters, Agnes Meisch Helmers of LaPorte City, Margaret Kraus of Jesup, Rita Kies of Jesup, Lucy (Jack) Toal of Tucson, Ariz., and Theresa Serafini of Lincoln, Calif. In eternal life she joins her parents and two sisters, Marie Soteros and Matilda Temeyer.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 14, 2008, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, with Msgr. Ralph Simington as celebrant. Music will be by Marian Woods, organist, Ray Buhrow, Christian Junker and the St. Athanasius Choir. Casket Bearers will be Donald Buhrow, Thomas Buhrow, Raymond Buhrow, Richard Buhrow, Leonard Buhrow and Russell Buhrow. Burial will be at St. Athanasius Catholic Cemetery, Jesup. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at White Funeral Home, Jesup, where there will be a parish rosary at 3 p.m. and vigil service at 7 p.m. today with Fr. Kenneth C. Stecher officiating. Visitation will continue for an hour before services Monday at the church. Memorials will be directed to Faith Hospice, Irving, Texas, and to Calvary Temple Church, Carlisle, Pa.
