WINTHROP - William F. Moroney, 48, passed away Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007 at the Buchanan County Health Care Center in Independence following a lengthy illness.
Funeral service will be held Friday, Dec. 28, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Masonville. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery north of Masonville. Friends may call from 4 until 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at the Fawcett Funeral Home in Winthrop.
William Francis Moroney was born Jan. 24, 1959 at Manchester, the son of Francis W. and Mildred Clemen Moroney. He grew up on the farm south of Masonville, attended school at East Buchanan Schools in Winthrop graduating in 1977, and furthered his education with an Associates degree from Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo. Bill worked at Wilson's in Cedar Rapids for a few years and then was a salesman for KMCH radio station in Manchester until health forced his retirement.
Survivors include his three sisters, Janice (John) Madden of West Des Moines; Diane (Ralph Stepehens) Moroney of Cedar Rapids; and Patricia (Rusty) Chesmore of Verona, Wis.; six nieces and nephews; his uncle Robert Moroney of Masonville; his aunt Anna Mae Dolan of Winthrop; other relatives and friends.
