INDEPENDENCE - Ivan L. Kruse, 67, of Independence, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, at East Towne Care Center in Independence following a short illness.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at St. John's Catholic Church in Independence, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Thursday at the White Funeral Home, Independence, where there will be a 3 p.m. parish rosary and 7 p.m. vigil service . He was born Nov. 5, 1940, in Iowa City, the son of August Henry and Amelia Ann (Overmann) Kruse. He graduated from St. John's High School in Independence with the Class of 1959. Before retiring in 1999, Mr. Kruse was a tool and die maker with H & H Tool in Cedar Falls.
Survivors include his sister, Beverly Hakanson of Tulsa, Okla., and his brother, Patrick H. Kruse of Independence.
