INDEPENDENCE - William "Bill" S. Medulan, 71, of Independence, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, at the Buchanan County Health Center in Independence following a short illness.
Funeral and Masonic services will be 11 a.m.
Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, at the White Funeral Home in Independence. Burial will be 2 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Ryan. Military rites will be performed by the Ryan American Legion Post 692.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Thursday at the White Funeral Home, Independence.
He was born July 6, 1936, in Iowa City, the son of Stanley and Wilma A. (Voelschow) Medulan. He graduated from high school in 1954 at Manchester. For the next 20 years he served in the Navy and achieved the rank of Boatswain Mate First Class. On June 8, 1960, he and the former Clara Ann Aldrich were married at Manchester. After retiring from the Navy, Bill worked in transportation and security at the Mental Health Institute in Independence, retiring in 1996.
Survivors include his wife Clara, one sister, Ruth Ann (Edward) Pooler of Silsbee, Texas, and nieces and nephews.
