LAMONT - Carl L. Neumann, 87, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, at the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home, following a short illness.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Grace United Methodist Church in Lamont. Burial with military rites by the Lamont Loren-Foster Legion Post at Campton Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at Fawcett's Funeral Home in Lamont and after 10 a.m. Friday at the church.
Carl Lewis Neumann was born May 24, 1920, near West Union, the son of Walter and Wilhemina Kruger Neumann. He served during World War II in the Army from 1942 to 1946. Carl married Alice Popham on June 10, 1950, at her parents farm north of Lamont. Carl worked as a maintainer operator for Buchanan County.
Survivors include his wife Alice Popham Neumann of Strawberry Point; his daughter Sandra (Roger) Moorman of Lamont; three sons, Edwin (Louise) of Cedar Rapids; Russell of Sallisaw, Okla., and Robert of Missouri Valley, Iowa; 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; and one sister Doris Nading of Sparta, Wis.
