INDEPENDENCE - Jean E. Ives, 87, of Independence, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007, at the Buchanan County Health Center in Independence following a lengthy illness.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m.
Monday, Oct. 22, at the White Funeral Home in Independence. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Winthrop.
She was born July 25, 1920, in Troy Mills, Iowa, the daughter of Roy Glen and Ivadare (Elliott) Walton. She graduated from Winthrop High School in 1935. In 1937, she and James Melvin Stover were married in Davenport. They were later divorced. She was married to Noel Ives in Cherokee, and they were later divorced. At one point in her life, Mrs. Ives was the owner and operator of the Dairy King restaurant in Crane, Mo.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Meister of Buford, Ga., and Judith (Tom) Cabalka of Independence; 10 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren.
