HAZLETON - Larry Dean Berry, 54, formerly of Hazleton, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at the Veterans Hospital in Knoxville after a short illness.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home, Oelwein. Burial will be in the Wadena Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the Oelwein American Legion Ross Reid Post 9 Honor Guard. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Larry Dean Berry was born Oct. 4, 1952, in Oelwein, the son of Raymond and Helen (Walters) Berry. He attended Oelwein Community High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army on Jan. 29,1971. He worked many years as a semi truck driver.
Survivors include his children, Stephanie Thompson of Waldorf, Minn., Brett Berry of Oelwein and Brooke Berry of Oelwein; three brothers, Gene (Pat) Berry of Stanley, Jerry (Donna) Berry of Bonnevile, Ky, and Wayne Berry of Oelwein.
