INDEPENDENCE - Robert J. Pattee, Jr., 64, of Independence died Monday, Oct. 15, 2007 suddenly at his home.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at St. John's Catholic Church in Independence, with the Rev. Aloysius J. Vorwald officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, with a 4 p.m. rosary, a military memorial service at 7 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 8 p.m.
Bob was born Aug. 20, 1943 in Fort Dodge, Iowa the son of Robert J. and Marian A. (Justus) Pattee. He moved with his family to Michigan and then to Independence, Iowa where Bob graduated from the St. John's High School.
He served with the Air Force from Oct. 1, 1963 thru June 5, 1967. Following his discharge he graduated from the University of Iowa, and received his law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law. Bob practiced his profession in Pueblo, Colo., Humboldt and Oelwein, prior to returning to Independence. He was united in marriage to Donna L. Ryan on Nov. 27, 1992 in Independence.
He is president of the Buchanan County Bar Association, a member of the Iowa Bar Association, and the Oelwein American Legion Ross Reid Post 9.
He is survived by his, wife Donna of Independence; five children, Steve Pattee, Newport, R.I., David Pattee, Stow, Ohio, Kayt Pattee, West Hollywood, Calif., Kristi (Curt) Price, Rowley, Nic Ryan, Cedar Falls; a grandson Keaton Price; five sisters, Susan (John) McMorris, Sun Prairie, Wis., Barbara (Fred) McMorris, Barrington Hills, Ill., Kathy (Larry) Huston, Prescott, Ariz., Peg Pattee, Seattle, Wash., Jan Harms, Spirit Lake; a brother Dr. Tom (Linda) Pattee, Cedar Falls; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
