EDGEWOOD - Lucille M. Gremmels, 88, of Madison, Wis. and formerly of Edgewood, died Tuesday morning, Nov. 20, 2007 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, Wis. after a brief illness.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with a public Eastern Star service at 7 p.m. Friday.
Memorial may be designated for the Grand Chapter of Iowa Order of the Eastern Star or the American Cancer Society.
Lucille Mae Clark was born on July 24, 1919 at Winthrop, Iowa, the daughter of Charles Edwin and Theresa Gertrude (Martin) Clark. She graduated from Stanley High School and attended Upper Iowa University at Fayette. Lucille married La Verne Albert Gremmels on June i3, 1943 at Oelwein (he died July 20, 1983). Lucille and La Verne moved to Edgewood where they owned and operated Edgewood Implement. She moved to Madison, Wis., in January 1991.
Survivors include her two sons, Dr. Fred (Cindy) Gremmels of Watertown, Wis., and Mark (Deb) Gremmels of Dubuque; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; and her sister Lillian Walton of Midland, Texas.
