INDEPENDENCE - Mable P. McCalley, 82, of Independence, died on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007, at Manor Care in Waterloo, following a short illness.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at the White Funeral Home in Independence. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence.
Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. on Thursday.
She was born Sept. 5, 1924, in Armour, S. D., the daughter of William Charles and Bertha Olive (Rice) Hatfield. She attended Benton County, Iowa, country schools. On Nov. 25, 1941, she and Sie Rommann were married in Lancaster, Mo. (He died in 1968) On Jan. 7, 1973, she and Clyde McCalley were married at Independence. Mrs. McCalley was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband Clyde; two sons, Larry (Connie) Rommann of Independence and Ronald (Jean) Rommann of Dysart; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren; one stepson, Doug (Barbara) McCalley of Waterloo; and one stepdaughter, Linda (Burt) Armstead of Independence; five step grandchildren; and one sister, Pearl Rommann of Independence.
