Sept. 7, 1918 - April 26, 2007
QUASQUETON - Isabelle Lelia Crow, 88, of Quasqueton, died Thursday, April 26, 2007, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester, following a short illness.
She was born Sept. 7, 1918, in Viola, Iowa, the daughter of George Grover and Isabelle Lelia (Ankeny) Payne. She attended the Linn County Country Schools. On May 29, 1936, she and Howard James Crow were married at the parsonage in Quasqueton, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 2001. In addition to caring for her family, Mrs. Crow also helped farm with her husband, was the Quasqueton Town Clerk, and also, was the Quasqueton correspondent for the Winthrop News.
She was a member of the Union Church of Quasqueton, the Royal Neighbors, the Quasqueton Federated Garden Club, and the Quasqueton Historical Society.
Mrs. Crow is survived by two daughters, Ellen (Charles) Patton of Cedar Rapids and Connie Snyder of Independence; four sons, James (Janice) Crow of Marion, Larry (Diane) Crow of Sumner, David (Joyce) Crow of Waterville, Minn., and Bill (Marilyn) Crow of Quasqueton; 19 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; one sister, Lucy (Gary) Bevill of Bethel, Mo.; and s sister-in-law, Betty Payne of Independence.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Adlia and George Payne, and two sisters, Luna Mae McAtee and Dorothy Weater.
Funeral services are 2:30 p.m. Monday; April 30, at the Union Church in Quasqueton, with the Rev. Kevin Jennings officiating. Burial will be in Quasqueton Cemetery.
White Funeral Home of Quasqueton is in charge of arrangements.
