INDEPENDENCE - Leonard H. Kuhn, 89, of Independence, died Friday, April 27, 2007, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, following a short illness.
Funeral services were Sunday, April 29, at the First Presbyterian Church in Independence. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery.
White Funeral Home of Independence was in charge of arrangements.
He was born June 10, 1917, in Brandon, Iowa, the son of Roy and Leona Blanche (Meggers) Kuhn. On Oct. 3,1942, he and the former Flora Bell McGill were married in Los Angeles (she died in 1999). Until he retired, Mr. Kuhn was a self-employed contractor who built many homes in the Independence area.
Survivors include one son, Harold "Hal" of Waukesha, Wis.; two daughters, Marilyn (Allan) Oline of Independence and Janice (Joe) Stem of Waterloo; seven grandchildren, four great grandsons; and one brother, Matthew of Waterloo.
