John A. Ricketts
JESUP - Private family services for John A. Ricketts will be held Monday, Nov. 17, at Parker Funeral Chapel, Jesup. Friends may call from 4 until 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel where there will be a prayer service at 6 p.m.
Mr. Ricketts, 31, died at his Jesup residence Thursday, Nov. 13, 1997. He was born March 23, 1966, in Independence, the son of Don and Mary L. Harris Ricketts. He was a 1984 graduate of Jesup High School and had attended Hawkeye Community College. Mr. Ricketts was a U.S. Marine and Navy service veteran. He was a sponsor for several children through the World Vision organization for numerous years. He enjoyed outdoor activities.
Survivors include two brothers, Larry of Salcha, Alaska, and Joe of Mason City; three sisters, Roseann Weber of Independence, Boni Bishop of Brandon, and Therese Olson of Jesup; seven nephews and seven nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert; and one sister, Donna Ricketts.
Memorials may be directed to the World Vision organization.
