JESUP - Funeral services for Marie M. Wulf will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, Oct. 18, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, with burial in the Church cemetery. Friends may call anytime after 2 p.m., today (Thursday) at White Funeral Home in Jesup, where there will be a parish rosary at 3 p.m. and a vigil service at 7:30 p.m.
Mrs. Wulf, 81, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 1996 at West Village Care Center, Independence, following a lengthy illness.
She was born Sept 11, 1915, in Jesup, the daughter of John and Mary (Schuler) Amfahr. On Oct. 4, 1933, she married Leo William Schmidt in Jesup. The couple farmed in the Jesup area for many years, until he died in 1972. On Jan. 5, 1973, she married Leonard A. Wulf in Waterloo. He preceded her in death in 1994. Mrs. Wulf had worked at the AMPI Jesup Creamery for 17 years, retiring in 1978. She was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Marlene (Howard) Lenius of Lansing; one son, Richard Schmidt of Papillion, Neb.; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and three sisters, Florence Reuter of Cedar Falls, Marjorie Brennan and Betty (LeRoy) Fangman, both of Waterloo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; one brother, Joseph Amfahr, and one sister in infancy, Anna Mae Amfahr.
Memorials may be made in her name to Hospice of Buchanan County.
